There's nothing quite like the thrill of riding a motorcycle. But unlike riding in a car, riding a motorcycle does come with some additional factors you have to pay attention to. One of them is your motorcycle glove. While a helmet is one of the most obvious motorcycle gear necessities for your safety, you'll find that you’re riding your motorcycle often or for long periods of time, the motorcycle glove you choose can play quite a big part in your riding journey.
The best motorcycle gloves can do everything from keeping your hands warm to protect them better in the event of a crash. Whether they are summer motorcycle gloves or winter gloves, these gloves are designed with your best interests in mind and built to be more than just regular gloves.
If you're not sure where to start, we’ve tested the top best motorcycle gloves on the market so we can give you the run down on each brand. Each pair of gloves was extensively reviewed and tested so you can be sure the results and opinions here are accurate to how the gloves are in real life.

More About Klim Badlands Short Gloves
At the top of our list are the Klim Badlands Aero Pro short gloves. These motorcycle gloves are constructed with premium leather and ceramic abrasion technology to protect your hand at all times while riding. The reinforced knuckles on these gloves will keep both creatures and the elements from bumping into you too hard which we can all appreciate at some time or another.
We found these gloves to be rather comfortable to wear, regardless of your riding style and even for long rides. They are short and didn't hinder our movements or make them difficult. Our favorite highlight? They are even compatible with touch screen technology so you don’t have to take them off just to check your phone or respond to a short text.
Coming in multiple different accent colors, these gloves will match whatever else you wear while riding. They’re a sensible black leather with an easy velcro buckle that you don’t have to struggle with when trying to get them either on or off.
One of our favorite things about these gloves is just how padded and comfortable they are. Even the palms are padded so your hands won’t start to ache after longer stretches of time on your motorcycle. They are even well ventilated despite how well protected they keep you. Your hands won’t get too sweaty or hot while wearing these unlike some protective gloves.
The measurements are taken of the palm width not including the thumb, so if you have a tape measure easy and on hand, it can take no more than just a few minutes to find and purchase your own pair.

More About R&G Leather Deluxe Motorcycle Gloves
These super affordable leather gloves are another hot buy on our list of top motorcycle gloves. They are made with a double layer of leather so your hands stay warm and protected. There are also scaphoid bone protectors in the wrist part so you don’t injure your wrist in a crash. These gloves also feature reinforced kevlar and carbon fiber knuckle protection.
In order to keep your hands more comfortable during a ride, these gloves have inner padding around the knuckle armor to prevent the gloves from pressing painfully against your hands. We liked how the cuff is long, but loose enough that the bulk of the glove wouldn't hinder us when moving our hands. The snug elastic strap is easy to use and keeps these gloves well in place for the full duration of your trip.

More About Viking Cycle Perforated Motorcycle Gloves
Viking Cycle makes stellar motorcycle gear of all sorts. All of their products, like their perforated motorcycle gloves, are made super affordable without losing their quality. These perforated gloves come in almost every size, making them a great option for those who often struggle to find a well fitting pair of gloves. They are short and stop right at your wrist, but they don’t slip or slide during your rides.
Made with genuine leather and gel padding in the palms, these summer motorcycle gloves are comfortable for those nice weather rides. They are well ventilated so your hands won’t get sweaty, but they won’t do much to keep you warm in the winter and you need to use another pair of winter motorcycle gloves. The material is touch screen friendly for any smart device so you don’t have to take off your gloves every time you want to use your GPS or phone.
While these gloves don’t have superior hand protection, they do have knuckle protection. In the case of a crash, they will definitely help protect you a lot better.
These gloves are wind and water resistant and very durable. We found that they could withstand a sudden storm and keep us well protected. We didn't have to worry about them slipping off even in wet weather. Also, the velcro strap is secure and snug at all times which was a definite plus point for us.

More About The Viking Cycle Panache Riding Gloves
Another great pair of gloves from Viking Cycle are these panache riding gloves. They have quite a different design from the perforated gloves above, so if you didn’t particularly like those ones, these gloves are definitely worth an extra look.
These gloves are made with textile and stretchable mesh for that perfect summer glove. They have a black and white stripe design and mold perfectly to your hands. With padded Clarino palms and a strong velcro closure, these gloves are still high quality at a great price.
Just like the perforated gloves by Viking Cycle, these gloves are touch screen friendly and have silicone micro grips to provide an easy hold.
We found them super easy to take on and off, but we wouldn’t recommend them if you plan on doing heavy riding or like to take winter trips. We liked how they fit well and have a neat design, but they won’t do much to protect your hands or keep you warm when the temperatures drop.

More About Alpinestars Men’s SMX-1 Air v2 Motorcycle Gloves
These gloves offer great hand protection at an affordable price. Made from leather and mesh chassis, they are a protective cuff glove that will stay securely on your hand for the whole ride. We thoroughly enjoyed the good airflow to our hands which meant that we could wear them even during the summer months and enjoy solid knuckle protection.
The protection on these gloves comes from several factors. On the palm and sides of the gloves, you’ll find synthetic suede to prevent abrasions in case of a crash. There is also hard polymer protection on your knuckles to really keep your hands safe against anything. The heavy duty mesh and leather blend works to protect the rest of your hand during any trip as well while still staying breathable and comfortable. Overall, you'll be getting a glove product with beautiful finish complemented by strong, durable construction.
Alpinestar builds their gloves comfortable with padding on all fingers. We found that the bit of extra padding on the thumb and palm didn't make movement difficult or prevent us from riding as usual. The material is also touch screen compatible to keep using your phone or GPS easy. Do note that the sizing tends to run a little small.

More About Alpinestars Men’s SP-8 v2 Leather Gloves
Another hit pair of gloves from Italian brand Alpinestars is their SP-8 v2 leather gloves. They are a little longer than some of the other gloves we’ve mentioned above, but they are still great quality and offer fantastic protection. They also won’t restrict your movement any more than other gloves will, especially after breaking them in.
These Alpinestars gloves are truly heavy duty. They have great knuckle protection and strong leather to protect against abrasions. We liked that there is reinforced leather in strategic areas to really add to the strength and protection offered by these gloves. Our fingers were very well protected with extra reinforcement that didn't prevent them from moving.
The main knuckle protection offered by these gloves is coated in microfiber and has a reflective band. Alpinestars added EVA foam pads just beneath this to prevent your hands from getting sore and rubbing poorly against the protection, so these gloves will stay nice and comfortable for the full duration of your ride.
The very tip of these tough Alpinestars gloves is touch screen friendly. You’ll still be able to use your smart device for whatever you need without having to pause and take off a whole glove. Instead, you can quickly pull out your device without hassle.
Overall, we found these riding gloves very easy to take on and off with the quick velcro strap. It also didn't rub against our wrist uncomfortably while riding or wearing them.

Cortech has made a great set of winter gloves that is still ventilated well enough so you can wear them through warmer weather. We didn't find them bulky, despite how well insulated they are and they won't restrict movement during your ride.
Your fingers will be well protected with these gloves and well padded. There is a protective layer of abrasive fabric covering your whole hand and extra padding between fingers for comfort. The inside of the glove is lined nicely with nylon so your hands will be comfortable for the whole ride.

Factors to Consider in Choosing Motorcycle Gloves
Before you actually buy a pair of motorcycle gloves, there may be a few things you want to consider beforehand.
Related Content:
Weather Conditions
A very obvious factor to consider when choosing the best motorcycle gloves is the type of weather you’re going to be riding in. If you spend lots of time riding in wet or cold weather, you won’t want to purchase flimsy gloves that may not be weatherproof. There are some stronger gloves that are meant to withstand nasty weather and keep you dry.
On the other hand, if you really only ride in sunny or nice weather, then you will probably want a glove that is built for hot weather. Find a glove that is more lightweight and breathable or your hands may get sweaty before you even fasten your gloves.

Style
Style is a bit more dependent on your own personal preferences than an actual necessity, but there is value in matching the style of your gloves to the style of your bike. If you have a race bike or a street bike that it’s bit more stylish, then purchasing stylish gloves that match your bike may be more important to you.
One thing to keep in mind, however, is that if you do a lot of off-roading or trail riding, then you may want something that will well protect your hands and knuckles from stray branches or possible animals. Finding something with plenty of armor to protect against an accidental collision with a tree is probably worth your time.
Just like with off-roading, racing brings its own dangers and style of gloves. You’ll find more racing gloves have a bit of a sleek design while still being fairly protective, something to keep well in mind if you race or would like to race.
The Fit and Size
Especially when buying gloves online, you want to make sure they are going to fit comfortably. Any gloves that are too tight or too loose will rub against your hands during rides and cause blisters.
If you are going in store to make a purchase, try on the gloves. Wriggle your fingers and wear them for several minutes if you can. This will help ensure you get a properly fitting glove.
Make sure to measure your hand before when looking online at sizes. Read reviews, search online, and find a size guide that can help you accurately measure your hand for that specific brand.

Conclusion
Ultimately, your gloves have to do a good job in protecting you. But finding a nice balance between comfort and protection is key. Get the best motorcycle gloves that retail at an affordable price point and can perform well, rain or shine. With so many glove options on the market today, you should be able to find a reliable pair without sacrificing style as well.
